Wake Forest, NC (August 17, 2020) – One person was killed and another was injured in a car accident that took place on Capital Boulevard over the weekend. The crash was reported on Saturday, August 15th near the intersection with Stadium Drive.
Investigators arrived at the scene shortly after noon and discovered that two vehicles had collided with one another. According to reports, 73-year-old Wayne Walker was traveling on Capital Boulevard when he lost control of his vehicle. Walker’s car traveled over the center median and collided head-on with a car that was traveling in the opposite direction. Walker was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The driver of the other vehicle, identified only as a female, was taken to a local hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. She has not been identified at this time and there is no update on her condition.
Officers re-routed traffic along Capital Boulevard for several hours while they worked to clear the crash scene and investigate the accident. There is no word on what caused Walker to travel left of center at this time and an investigation is ongoing at this time. No further details have been released.
