Guilford County, NC (August 30, 2020) – Police in Guilford County were on the scene of a crash involving six cars on Friday, August 28th. The crash was reported along Interstate 73 near Summerfield.
According to Summerfield Fire Chief Chris Johnson, the accident took place in the southbound lanes of the highway near US 158. Authorities say that the crash was caused when a truck traveling the wrong way collided head-on with another vehicle, resulting in a chain-reaction collision. At least one person was taken to the hospital after the accident for treatment of unknown injuries. There is no word at this time on whether anyone else was hurt in the crash. The identity of those involved has not been identified.
Police continue to investigate the accident. No further details are available at this time.
