Fayetteville, NC (September 10, 2020) – A pedestrian suffered injuries after being involved in a crash with a Fayetteville police officer on Thursday. The crash took place around 7:30 p.m. along Raeford Road near the intersection with Bunce Road.
According to initial reports, a female pedestrian was walking near the intersection. At the same time, a police officer was traveling westbound on Raeford. As the officer approached, his patrol vehicle struck the woman. The female pedestrian was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center following the crash. Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. The officer was not hurt. The woman’s identity has not been revealed at this time and there is no other information regarding the cause of the accident.
Two lanes of Bunce Road were closed while Fayetteville police investigated at the scene. Motorists were advised to avoid the area and to find alternate routes of travel if possible. No additional details are available at this time.
