Gastonia, NC (September 23, 2020) – Police were at the scene of a crash involving a 1-year-old child in Gastonia. The crash was first reported around 12:00 p.m. in the 100 block of North Liberty Street.
According to the Gastonia Police Department, officers arrived at the scene and later discovered that the young child had been struck by a vehicle in the area. The victim was taken to CaroMont Regional Medical Center before being airlifted to Levine Children’s Hospital in Charlotte. There is no word on the extent of the injuries at this time or the cause of the accident. No one involved has been identified by the police and it is not clear whether the other driver remained at the scene.
Police are still looking into the accident at this time and have not said whether any charges are expected to be filed. No further information has been released.
