Thomasville, NC (September 26, 2020) – One person is dead following a pedestrian crash in Thomasville on Friday, September 25th. The crash was first around 3:30 p.m. in the northbound lanes of I-85 near mile marker 103.
Police and rescue crews were called to the scene shortly after the accident occurred. According to reports, a man was walking near the roadway in the northbound lanes when he was hit by a vehicle. The man, who has not been identified, was given medical aid at the scene but he later succumbed to his injuries. Following the pedestrian incident, there was a reported secondary crash involving an SUV and another vehicle. The driver of the SUV was taken to a hospital in unknown condition. It is not known whether the secondary accident the pedestrian crash are related to one another.
An investigation into both incidents remains active at this time. Police have not released any further details.
