North Carolina Pedestrian Accidents
Pedestrians are some of the most vulnerable crash victims on our roadways. A pedestrian is unable to protect themselves against the force and impact of a serious crash and many accidents take place before the pedestrian can react in an attempt to avoid being struck. In 2018, there were 225 deaths reported in North Carolina pedestrian accidents, a 12.5% increase over the year before. More than 80% of all pedestrian crashes in our state result in injuries to the victim, many of which are serious and life-altering.
There is certainly nothing more devastating than the loss of a family member in a traffic accident. The loss of a child is even more tragic. Following a fatal accident, the relatives of the deceased victim are often left feeling confused, saddened, frustrated, and overwhelmed. Family members may wonder what steps they can take to achieve justice and move forward following a catastrophic event. In some cases, the family may be entitled to pursue a wrongful death claim against the other driver. If your loved one was killed in a crash that was not their fault, you should have a consultation with a trusted attorney in order to understand your legal rights in this situation.
