Rockingham County, NC (October 22, 2020) – One person was killed after a crash that took place in Rockingham County on Wednesday, October 21st. The crash happened o North Carolina Highway 87 near Lindsey Road, just southeast of Reidsville.
According to reports, 56-year-old Patricia Ann Pruitt was traveling southbound on N.C. 87 when she tried to pass a vehicle in front of her. Pruitt’s car sideswiped a northbound vehicle before striking another car head-on. She suffered critical injuries and died at the scene.
A passenger in her vehicle was taken to Moses Cone Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The driver and passenger of the vehicle that was struck head-on were taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. No other injuries were reported.
Police have not released any additional details regarding the crash. An investigation is ongoing at this time.
