Greensboro, NC (November 22, 2020) – A man was killed in a crash that took place on Interstate 85 in Greensboro on Saturday, November 21st. The crash took place around 8:25 a.m. near Mount Hope Church Road.
The Greensboro Police Department responded to the crash scene. According to officers, a man was driving a 1990 Chevrolet Corvette on I-85 when he lost control of his vehicle. The car ran off the right side of the roadway and crashed through a guardrail before striking a 2020 Nissan Altima driven by a 57-year-old man from Whitsett. The Corvette driver was ejected from his vehicle and thrown into the roadway before being struck by a tractor-trailer. The driver was later pronounced dead as a result of the crash. The Altima driver was taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Police have charged one person with reckless driving and misdemeanor death by motor vehicle. An investigation is ongoing at this time. No further details are available.
