Charlotte, NC (December 1, 2020) – The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department was called to the scene of a hit-and-run accident in the city on Tuesday, December 1st. The incident occurred around 3:25 p.m. at the intersection of N. Tryon Street and W. Sugar Creek Road.
According to a report, an unidentified person was riding a bicycle on N. Tryon when they were struck by a vehicle traveling near the intersection. The impact of the crash knocked the rider off of their bike and into the roadway. The driver then fled the scene immediately after the accident. Rescue workers arrived at the scene and provided medical treatment to the injured bicyclist. There is no word on the victim’s condition at this time. Police have not released any details on the vehicle or the driver at this time.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing. No further details are available.
