Davidson County, NC (December 5, 2020) – A deputy with the Davidson County Sheriff’s Department suffered injuries in a crash on Friday night. The crash was reported at 6:05 p.m. at the intersection of Cunningham Road and Sullivan Road.
According to authorities, the unnamed deputy was sitting in their patrol vehicle near the intersection with its emergency lights flashing in an effort to route traffic around a nativity scene. At that time, a vehicle ran a stop sign at the intersection and collided with a second vehicle. The second vehicle then struck the deputy’s cruiser. Rescue crews responded to the scene and transported the deputy to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. There is no word on whether anyone else was injured in the three-car crash and the identities of the other drivers are not available.
