Durham, NC (December 29, 2020) – A woman from Efland was hurt in a two-car accident that took place in Durham on Saturday, December 26th. The accident took place around 8:50 a.m. on State Road 1639 at the intersection with State Road 1754.
Trooper E.M. Fleck with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to the accident scene. According to a report, Nancy Briana Cole, of Durham, was driving a 2011 Honda westbound on SR 1754. Cole came to a stop and attempted to make a left turn onto SR 1639. Prior to turning, Cole failed to yield to an oncoming vehicle driven by Rosa Hernandez Chora, of Efland. Cole and Chora’s vehicle collided with one another and Chora’s car came to rest in the middle of the roadway.
Following the crash, the Durham County EMS responded to the accident scene. Chora was taken to Duke Regional Hospital in Durham for treatment of unspecified injuries. Cole was not transported. Following an investigation, Trooper Fleck charged Cole with failing to yield.
