Fuquay-Varina, NC (January 2, 2021) – A woman from Garner was injured in a two-car crash that happened in Fuquay-Varina on Monday, December 28th. The accident occurred around 7:05 p.m. on Old Stage Road at the intersection with Carlie Adams Road.
Trooper J.K. Legan of the North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to the accident scene just after the crash took place. According to a report, McKenzie Leigh Bruner, of Willow Spring, was driving a 2013 Hyundai when she came to a stop at the intersection of Old Stage and Carlie Adams. Bruner attempted to make a left turn from the stop sign onto Old Stage Road. As she turned, however, Bruner failed to notice a vehicle that was northbound on Old Stage and the two cars collided. The driver of the second vehicle was identified as Ashley Necole Clark, of Garner.
Following the collision, both cars came to rest in the middle of the roadway. Clark suffered unspecified injuries as a result of the accident and was transported to Wake Medical Center in Raleigh. There is no update on her condition at this time. Bruner was not injured in the crash.
Following an investigation, troopers charged Bruner with a safe movement violation for her role in the crash. No additional information has been released at this time.
