Car Accidents in North Carolina
North Carolina can be a dangerous place for motorists and passengers in motor vehicles. The number of reported crashes in our state has steadily risen over the past several years. Although statistics for the most recent year are not available, there was a total of 285,074 reported car accidents in North Carolina in 2019. This number was an increase of approximately 6,500 crashes when compared with the year before and an increase of nearly 60,000 annual crashes when compared with five years prior. As more and more people continue to travel our roadways, we can expect this number to continue to go up in subsequent years. As a result, motorists must ensure that they exercise as much caution as possible in order to avoid a dangerous and potentially deadly accident.
