Mocksville, NC (January 12, 2021) – Four people were sent to the hospital following an accident with injuries in Mocksville on Tuesday morning. The crash was reported around 9:30 a.m. on U.S. Highway 64, near Fort Bixby Road.
The North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to the crash scene. According to troopers, a van was stopped at the intersection and tried to cross over U.S. 64 when the driver failed to yield and was hit by a tractor-trailer. The driver of the van was taken to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center with serious injuries. Three other passengers were also taken to Wake Forest Baptist with undisclosed injuries. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured and no one involved in the accident has been identified at this time.
The crash caused both directions of U.S. 64 to shut down while crews worked at the accident scene. There is no further information available at this time.
