Dunn, NC (May 25, 2020) – Multiple vehicles were involved in a crash that occurred in Harnett County on Sunday, May 24th. The crash took place near Dunn on Interstate 95 at the Pope Road Exit.
According to police, a total of five vehicles were identified in the crash. One of the vehicles, a tractor-trailer, spilled about 45 gallons of fuel onto the roadway. The crash was serious enough to close down both the northbound and southbound lanes of the roadway while crews worked to clear the scene. I-95 remained closed for several hours before reopening.
Emergency crews were at the scene tending to injured victims. There is no word on the nature or extent of injuries sustained at this time and no information was released on the cause of the crash.
An investigation is ongoing.
