Injury Accidents in North Carolina
According to the North Carolina Department of Transportation, there were more than 280,000 traffic accidents in North Carolina during the year 2018. This number increased by 6,000 from the year before. More than 125,000 injuries were reported as a result of these accidents, with many victims suffering serious and life-threatening injuries. A North Carolina car accident can be a very serious event that has long-term consequences for victims and their families.
Under our state’s law, crash victims have important legal rights following an accident. If the victim was not at fault for causing the collision, a personal injury claim can be filed against the other motorist. These claims must typically be filed within three years of the accident date. It is important to speak with an experienced attorney as soon as possible following the crash in order to protect your legal rights.
A North Carolina car accident lawyer can advise you of your rights and can help you move in the right direction as you proceed along your path to recovery. Obtaining the compensation that you deserve is often the first step in making sure that the crash does not affect you for years to come. Your compensation can be used to offset medical costs, replace lost wages, and provide you with an amount of money for your pain and suffering.
