According to police, a pedestrian was crossing the road when he was struck by a vehicle. Officials say that the driver, Cecilio Hernandez Cedillo, took no action to avoid striking the pedestrian. Rescue workers transported the pedestrian to a nearby hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Pedestrian Crashes in Raleigh
In 2018, 228 pedestrians lost their lives in North Carolina pedestrian accidents. This number represented an increase of 13.4% over the previous year’s death total. There are several factors that combine to make pedestrian accidents more devastating. These can include the size and force of the vehicle, the fact that pedestrians have no protection from the impact of a collision, and the fact that many drivers fail to see pedestrians before it is too late and they are unable to take any evasive actions.
A North Carolina pedestrian accident is a very serious event in the lives of victims. This does not mean that you should walk away empty-handed and pay for your recovery out of your own pocket. North Carolina law provides that a negligent driver should be held accountable for the damages caused by their actions.
