Statesville, NC (March 4, 2021) – One person was hurt in a crash involving four cars in Statesville on Thursday, March 4th. The accident took place on Interstate 77 near mile marker 41.
According to trooper Daniel Ayers of the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, the collision took place when a wrecker stopped in the roadway to help a disabled vehicle. Eventually, a chain-reaction collision occurred. One person was taken to a local hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries. There is no information on the identities of those involved in the accident. Motorists were advised to use caution when traveling near the scene or avoid the area if possible.
Police are still investigating the incident at this time. There is no further information available.
