Lenoir County, NC (March 18, 2021) – Two drivers were killed and a child suffered injuries following a head-on crash in Lenoir County. The accident took place around 2:15 p.m. on U.S. Highway 258 near the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints just south of Kinston.
According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, an SUV was traveling northbound when the driver crossed the center line and collided with a pickup truck that was traveling southbound. Both drivers died at the accident scene. A juvenile passenger in the pickup truck sustained serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Neither of the deceased victims have been identified at this time.
Troopers are continuing to investigate the collision. There is no word on the cause. No further information is available.
