Greenville, NC (March 26, 2021) – A 23-year-old woman from Greenville was involved in a hit-and-run crash with an impaired driver on Thursday, March 25th. The incident took place on 10th Street near the intersection with Eastgate Drive.
According to officers with the Greenville Police Department, Sarah Miner and her dog was crossing the street just before midnight when they were hit by a vehicle driven by 19-year-old Brandon Badik, of Greenville. Miner’s dog was killed in the accident and Miner suffered serious injuries. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment and there is no word on her condition. Badik left the scene following the crash.
Officers later located Badik and charged him with several offenses, including driving while impaired, driving after consuming under 21, and felony hit-and-run. Badik was identified as a current student at East Carolina University.
An investigation is ongoing at this time. No further information is available.
