Hillsborough, NC (March 31, 2021) – One person is dead following a crash that took place in Hillsborough on Wednesday, March 31st. The accident happened just after 7:00 a.m. on North Carolina Highway 86 near Efland Cedar Grove Road.
The North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to the accident scene. According to a report from officials, a sedan and a tractor-trailer were involved in a head-on collision. The crash resulted in the death of one person in the sedan. That person has not been identified at this time. No other injuries were reported. The cause of the accident is not clear.
The collision resulted in the road being closed for several hours while troopers investigated at the scene. Motorists were asked to avoid the area and to use caution when traveling near the scene.
