Johnston County, NC (April 2, 2021) – Two people suffered injuries in a crash that took place in Johnson County on Wednesday, March 31st. The accident happened on Sanders Road, near Benson, at approximately 8:00 p.m.
According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, a truck was towing a utility trailer when the trailer suddenly detached from the truck and crashed into a car. The car spun around before coming to rest. Both occupants of the car were hurt in the collision and were taken to WakeMed Hospital for treatment. There is no word on the condition of the victims at this time. The truck driver was not hurt.
Following an investigation, troopers charged the truck driver with improper towing. No one involved in the accident was identified.
