Raleigh, NC (April 17, 2021) – The Raleigh Police Department was on the scene of a two-vehicle crash in the city on Thursday, April 15th. The accident took place around 5:45 a.m. on Tryon Road near the intersection with Durham Drive.
According to police, a 2006 Toyota was traveling on Tryon Road when the driver ran a stop sign and collided with a 2015 Chevrolet SUV. The Toyota came to rest in a grassy field. A passenger in the Toyota was pinned inside the vehicle and had to be extricated by fire crews. The driver and passenger in the Toyota were taken to WakeMed Hospital for treatment. Their conditions are not known at this time. The SUV driver was treated at the scene for minor injuries but was not transported. No one involved in the accident has been identified. The crash caused the road to be closed for several hours.
