Harnett County, NC (April 28, 2021) – Police and rescue workers responded to the scene of a fatal accident in Harnett County on Wednesday night. The accident happened around 9:00 p.m. on North Carolina 87 near the Lee County line.
According to authorities, two people were killed in the crash. There is no word at this time on the events leading up to the accident. There were no other injuries reported and the identities of the deceased victims have not been released. The crash caused at least five lanes of the highway to be closed while police investigated at the crash scene. Motorists were advised to use caution and to find alternate routes of travel.
There is no word on any potential charges at this time. An investigation into the crash is underway.
