High Point, NC (May 3, 2021) – A 70-year-old man from High Point was killed in an accident that took place on Sunday evening. The collision was reported just before midnight on Johnson Street near the Korean American Presbyterian Church of Greater Greensboro.
According to officers with the High Point Police Department, Gwon Yong Hwan was driving a 2014 Honda Accord when he pulled out of the church parking lot and collided with a Chevrolet Camaro that was traveling on Johnson Street. Hwan was taken to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. There is no word on whether the driver of the Camaro was injured. That driver has not been identified at this time. There were no other vehicles involved in the crash.
An investigation is ongoing. No additional information is available.
