Raleigh, NC (May 4, 2021) – Police in Raleigh responded to the scene of a fatal car accident on Sunday afternoon. The accident happened on Millbrook Road near the intersection with Town and Country Road.
According to officers with the Raleigh Police Department, Zachary Gilchrist, of Raleigh, was driving a sedan eastbound on Millbrook Road when he crossed the center line. The sedan struck an SUV head-on. Gilchrist was taken to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. At least one person in the SUV was hurt and taken to a local hospital. Their condition is not known at this time. It is not clear if anyone else was injured in the collision.
Police are still investigating the accident and the cause at this time. No further information has been released.
