Reidsville, NC (May 10, 2021) – Police in Reidsville are investigating after a man was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Sunday, May 9th. The accident took place around 12:45 a.m. on Barnes Street.
According to officers, 57-year-old Wesley Pruitt was walking near the roadway when he was hit by a car. When rescue workers arrived, they found Pruitt in the road. He was pronounced dead at the crash scene. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene before officers could arrive. There is no description of the vehicle or the suspect. Police are reviewing surveillance footage from near the scene in an effort to identify the suspect. They also believe that one or more eyewitnesses may have seen the event and are asking them to come forward.
