Benson, NC (June 4, 2021) – Two people died in a fiery crash that took place on Friday morning in Benson. The accident happened on North Carolina Highway 50 near Church Road and Ennis Road at approximately 1:00 a.m.
According to authorities, a man was driving a pickup truck when he lost control of the vehicle. The truck veered off the roadway and struck a tree before bursting into flames. The man and a female passenger in the truck were both killed as a result of the crash. They have not been identified at this time. Authorities estimate that the truck was traveling approximately 100 mph at the time of the crash. There were no additional vehicles involved. The crash remains under investigation at this time.
