Raleigh, NC (July 18, 2021) – Police in Raleigh responded to the scene of a deadly hit-and-run crash early Sunday morning. The accident took place around 2:45 a.m. on Atlantic Avenue near the intersection with Millbrook Road.
When police arrived, they found a man lying in the roadway. Following an initial investigation, it was determined that the man was trying to cross the road when he was hit by a pickup truck. The driver of the pickup truck then fled the scene after striking the man. Rescue crews arrived at the scene but the man was later pronounced dead. He has not been identified at this time. Police have not provided any details on the pickup or the driver.
An investigation into the collision is ongoing. Anyone with any information on the crash is asked to contact Raleigh Crime Stoppers.
