Greensboro, NC (October 28, 2021) – Officials in Greensboro responded to a car accident involving multiple vehicles on Thursday, October 28th. The accident happened in the westbound lanes of Interstate 40 near the exit for Gallimore Dairy Road.
According to Ron Glenn of the Greensboro Police Department, a driver entered the highway traveling the wrong direction and struck several vehicles, causing the pileup to occur. Two people were taken from the accident scene to a local hospital with serious injuries. It is not known if the injuries are life-threatening. Police have not identified any of the victims at this time.
The road was closed for several hours as police worked at the scene. Motorists were advised to avoid the area while officials investigated the crash.
