Supply, NC (November 2, 2021) – Two men were killed and four others were hurt after a crash between a church van and a pickup truck over the weekend. The accident happened on Saturday, October 30th on Little Macedonia Road in Supply.
According to a report from the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, 32-year-old Antwomar Stevenson was driving a Chevrolet Silverado when he pulled out into an intersection and collided with the rear of a church van. 69-year-old Kimber Smitherman, of Dobson, and 66-year-old John Natzle, of Westfield, were killed in the accident. The driver of the van and three others were taken to New Hanover Regional Medical Center for treatment of unspecified injuries. Stevenson was transported for non-life-threatening injuries.
Following an investigation, Stevenson was charged with two counts of misdemeanor death by motor vehicle and failing to yield the right of way causing serious injuries. Troopers do not believe that alcohol played a role in the accident. An investigation continues.

Fatal Accidents in North Carolina
A North Carolina car accident can have life-altering effects. These crashes occur very suddenly and unexpectedly and, in the worst-case scenario, can result in the loss of a friend or loved one. Last year in our state, there were approximately 270,000 reported traffic accidents, nearly 80,000 injuries, and more than 1,400 fatalities. Most car accidents are entirely preventable and are caused due to basic human errors or driver negligence. A head-on crash is an example of the types of serious crashes that occur suddenly and can claim the lives of innocent victims.
If you have been injured or if you have lost a loved one in a Lumberton injury accident, you should seek the assistance of a trained and Supply car accident attorney as soon as possible. It is important to have an understanding of your legal rights after the accident. Before you speak with the insurance company, you should know that the adjuster is not working for you and the settlement offer that you do receive is likely to be well below the true value of your claim.
