Raleigh, NC (February 3, 2022) – The Raleigh Police Department responded to the scene of a serious car accident on Wednesday, February 2nd. The crash occurred around 9:15 p.m. along Interstate 40 near North Carolina Highway 54.
According to a report from authorities a car was in the right-hand lanes of the roadway when it was hit by a second vehicle that was traveling in the same direction. The driver of the first vehicle sustained serious injuries in the crash and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The driver of the second vehicle sustained minor injuries. Neither of the drivers were identified and there is no word on potential charges at this time.
Motorists were advised to avoid the area as officials investigated at the scene.
