Motorcycle Accidents in North Carolina
Fatal traffic accidents take place multiple times per day in North Carolina. According to statistics provided by the North Carolina Department of Transportation, about 1,500 people lose their lives in accidents on our state’s roadways each year. This number also includes several fatal motorcycle crashes. Motorcyclists are especially vulnerable to being injured or killed when they are involved in a crash. Motorcycles offer almost no protection from the force and impact of an accident and riders are more likely to be hurt when a crash does occur.
A North Carolina motorcycle accident can have many causes. It is often the case that a crash is caused by the actions of a negligent driver. If a driver fails to see or fails to yield to a motorcyclist, the result can be devastating. Following a motorcycle accident, the cause of the collision must be carefully investigated in order to determine who should be held responsible.
