Hope Mills, NC (June 14, 2022) – Police in Hope Mills responded to the scene of a deadly accident involving an SUV on Friday, June 10th. The crash happened around 1:00 a.m. on Camden Road at the intersection with Thomas Street.
According to a report from authorities, a champagne-colored Toyota SUV was traveling on Camden Road when the driver struck two men who were walking near the roadway. One of the victims died at the accident scene. The other suffered serious injuries and was transported for treatment at a local hospital. Neither of the men has been identified at this time. The Toyota driver fled the scene after the crash and police are still looking for the driver and the vehicle. The car is described as a late 1990s or early 200s model SUV.
Police are still investigating the crash. There is no additional information available at this time.
