Four Oaks, NC (August 17, 2022) – More than a dozen people sustained injuries in a multi-vehicle accident that took place in Four Oaks on Monday, August 15th. The collision occurred along Interstate 95 near mile marker 85.
Authorities responded to the massive accident scene and reported that 11 vehicles and two tractor-trailers were involved. A total of 13 victims were injured with four of the victims being taken to nearby hospitals for their injuries. The conditions of the victims and their identities are not known at this time. The accident resulted in heavy congestion on both sides of the road as several lanes were blocked following the accident. Police conducted an investigation but have not revealed any information on what may have caused the crash to take place, although there was heavy rain in the area at the time. Drivers were told to avoid the area due to the heavy traffic and delays near the crash scene.
The North Carolina State Highway Patrol investigated the accident. It is not clear if any charges will be filed.
