Apex, NC (August 22, 2022) – A man was killed in a motorcycle accident that took place in Cary on Sunday, August 21st. The accident happened on US Highway 1.
According to a report from the North Carolina Highway Patrol, 69-year-old Ricky Hagan was driving a three-wheel motorcycle on Highway 1. At the same time, a Chevrolet pickup truck was also traveling north on the same road. The truck failed to reduce its speed and collided with the rear of Hagan’s motorcycle. Hagan’s motorcycle ran off the road and struck a guardrail, ejecting him from the bike. He was rushed to Wake Med Main Hospital where he died from his injuries. No one in the truck was hurt.
The NCSHP is currently still investigating the accident. The driver of the pickup was charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle. He has not been identified at this time.
