Jacksonville, NC (September 30, 2022) – Troopers with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to the scene of a deadly accident involving a motorcycle on Thursday night, September 29th. The crash took place just after 6:00 p.m. on Piney Green Road near the intersection with Rocky Run Road.
According to troopers, a woman was riding a motorcycle near the intersection when she was hit by an SUV. The woman, whose name was not released, died at the accident scene. The driver of the SUV was not hurt in the crash and has also not been identified at this time. There is no immediate information on what caused the collison to take place. Motorists were asked to avoid the area and to find an alternate route of travel if possible. It is unclear if any charges will be filed in connection with the accident.
