North Carolina Hit-and-Run Crashes
Hit-and-run accidents in North Carolina result in death and serious injuries for hundreds of victims each year. A hit-and-run driver has often caused a crash due to their own negligence when they choose to flee the scene of an accident. In North Carolina, it is a felony to leave the scene of an injury crash.
In the context of a personal injury claim, hit-and-run crashes present many challenges. The first is attempting to locate the driver. Even if the driver is never found, however, you may still be able to recover for your injuries. Many drivers have uninsured motorist insurance which can be used to provide for compensation in cases involving hit-and-run or unknown drivers.
