Angier, NC (December 20, 2020) – An officer with the Angier Police Department suffered injuries in a crash that took place on Saturday, December 19th. The accident happened on North Carolina Highway 55 near the intersection with Kennebec Road around 3:00 p.m.
According to officials, the officer was traveling on N.C. 55 when his vehicle collided with a passenger car at the intersection. The officer suffered injuries in the crash and was transported to WakeMed Hospital to receive treatment. There is no word on how the accident occurred. It is not clear if the officer was on duty or in a marked patrol vehicle at the time of the crash. Officials have also not said if there were any other injuries as a result of the accident. No one involved has been identified.
There have been no charges filed at this time. An investigation into the accident remains ongoing. No further information is available.
