Boiling Spring Lakes, NC (October 28, 2020) – A 25-year-old woman was killed in a motorcycle crash that took place in Boiling Spring Lakes on Monday, October 26th. The accident was first reported just before midnight in the 800 block of Fifty Lakes Drive.
According to Boiling Spring Lakes Police Chief Greg Jordan, 25-year-old Kendra Connelly was a passenger on a motorcycle that was being operated by Nicholas Vernon. Vernon lost control of the bike and ran off of the roadway. The motorcycle crashed into a sign and then ran over a brick wall and into a culvert.
Following the crash, Vernon was taken to New Hanover Regional Medical Center with unknown injuries. Connelly suffered critical injuries and was later pronounced dead as a result of the injuries she sustained. There is no word on what caused the motorcycle to leave the roadway.
Investigators are still looking into the wreck. Jordan is consulting with the District Attorneys’ Office regarding possible charges but there are no charges filed at this time.
