Car Accidents in North Carolina
In 2019, there were more than 285,000 reported car accidents in North Carolina. From this number, more than 80,000 people suffered injuries, with many of the reported injuries being serious injuries. Sadly, over 3,000 people were also killed in these reported accidents. Based on these numbers, we can expect about 1 in 3 reported car accidents in our state to lead to injuries. In a substantial number of these accidents, the victims will be innocent motorists who are hurt due to the actions of a negligent driver. As our state’s population continues to grow, we can also expect to see an increase in the number of reported injury accidents.
If you have been hurt in a crash and the crash was not your fault, you could have valuable and important legal rights. North Carolina’s personal injury laws protect victims who were hurt due to the actions of negligent motorists. Victims of North Carolina car accidents could be entitled to receive damages in the form of lost wages, pain and suffering, payments of their medical bills, and possibly more. Depending on the severity of the accident, these numbers can add up quickly and you do not want to be left financially responsible for someone else’s mistakes.
