Cary, NC (January 23, 2021) – A pedestrian was hit by a vehicle in Cary on Friday, January 22nd. The crash happened along U.S. Highway 1 near the exit for Walnut Street.
The North Carolina State Highway Patrol, along with local rescue officials responded to the scene of the crash. According to officials, the unidentified male pedestrian was crossing the road when he was hit by a vehicle. The man suffered critical injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The driver of the vehicle was not injured in the accident. There is no word on the events that led up to the accident and it is not clear at this time if the pedestrian had the right-of-way when he was struck. The crash led to U.S. 1 being closed for several hours while officials investigated at the scene.
