Injury Accidents in North Carolina
Injury crashes in North Carolina take place several times each day. An injury accident can happen at nearly any time and without little notice. Some of the most serious injury accidents are reported as hit-and-run collisions. A hit-and-run simply involves a driver that causes an accident and then leaves the scene before police can arrive. Hit-and-run is illegal in North Carolina and is even a felony criminal offense when a driver leaves the scene of an injury accident. While not all hit-and-run collisions occur due to negligence, most of them do. In fact, many hit-and-run drivers flee the scene of an accident precisely because they know that their negligence led to an injury crash.
A hit-and-run accident can present complicated legal issues. In some cases, the driver may not be located. In other cases, they might be found but it turns out that they do not carry liability insurance. For these reasons, it is vital for injured victims to secure legal representation if they have been involved in a hit-and-run accident.
