Chapel Hill, NC (November 11, 2020) – A freshman student at UNC-Chapel Hill suffered serious injuries after she and her dog were struck by a vehicle in a crosswalk on campus. The crash took place around 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 8th on East Franklin Street in Chapel Hill.
According to the Chapel Hill Police Department, Sinclair Larson was walking on East Franklin with her dog when they were both hit by a car. Larson was in a crosswalk at the time of the crash. She suffered serious injures broken ribs and facial fractures. Larson’s dog also sustained serious injuries and was being treated at an emergency vet for a hole in his lung and blood in his abdomen. Larson was treated at UNC Hospitals for her injuries.
The driver of the other vehicle has not been identified but did remain at the scene following the crash. Police are still investigating and there is no word on whether charges will be issued.
