Car Accidents in North Carolina
With a growing population of more than 10 million residents, North Carolina is quickly becoming a state with high volumes of traffic in many areas. Major cities such as Charlotte can have heavy traffic and congested roadways. In these situations, it is common to see crashes occur because of the presence of negligent drivers.
In North Carolina, an injured motorist may have legal rights to recover from the driver following a crash. Normally, the recovery is against the other driver’s insurance company. When there is not enough insurance to cover your claim, the victim can often make a claim against their own insurance policy to help make up the difference. There are specific types of damages available including lost wages caused by the accident, pain and suffering, and payments for medical expenses, such as hospital and prescription costs.
The goal following a North Carolina car accident is to put you back into the position that you enjoyed prior to the crash. This means a full recovery or the fullest recovery possible under the circumstances. As a car accident victim, you should not have to suffer due to the choices of other drivers. Therefore, it is important to protect your legal rights and speak with a qualified North Carolina car accident lawyer as soon as possible following the crash. Time is not always on your side and you do not want to be in a bad position when it comes time to file your claim.
