Charlotte, NC – One Killed in Tractor-Trailer Accident on Woodlawn Road

Charlotte, NC (July 26, 2020) – A person was killed after a tractor-trailer crash that took place in Charlotte on Saturday, July 25th. The crash took place just after Noon on Woodlawn Road near the intersection with Scaleybark Road.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department along with the Charlotte Fire Department and EMS crews were among the first officials to arrive at the scene. According to witness reports, a car and a tractor-trailer were involved in a crash near the intersection. Medical personnel quickly administered treatment to the victim who was seriously injured in the accident. Ultimately, the treatment was unsuccessful and that person was pronounced dead by paramedics. There is no information on whether anyone else was hurt in the crash. The identity of the deceased victim was not immediately available.

Police have not said what caused the collision to occur at this time. Traffic in the area was delayed as law enforcement officials conducted an investigation and cleared the wreckage away from the scene. Drivers were urged to find alternate routes of travel although the road was later reopened.

An investigation is ongoing and there are no additional details available.
