Dunn, NC (February 4, 2021) – A driver was hurt after he was hit by a truck while stepping out of his vehicle on Interstate 95 near Dunn. The crash took place in the northbound lanes of the roadway near Exit 71 and Long Branch Road.
According to police, a driver was involved in a crash that took place in the northbound lanes of the roadway. The driver’s vehicle ended up on the shoulder following the accident. As the driver stepped out of his vehicle, his car was hit by a truck that was traveling northbound on I-95. The force of the collision pushed the car into the man, causing him to suffer injuries. The man, who has not been identified, was taken to a local hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. There were no additional injuries reported in the crash.
Delays were reported around the scene as traffic was backed up for several miles. Motorists were urged to use alternate routes of travel. There is no word at this time on whether any charges are expected to be filed and no further information is available.
