Duplin County, NC (February 10, 2021) – The North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to the scene of a fatal car accident in Duplin County on Wednesday afternoon. The accident happened on U.S. Highway 117 near Interstate 40.
When troopers responded, they located one person suffering from critical injuries as a result of the crash. Rescue crews later arrived at the scene and pronounced the victim dead due to their injuries. At this time, there is no information on how the crash took place other than the accident involved a car and a tractor-trailer. The identity of the deceased victim has not been released. It is also not clear if anyone was injured in the collision.
Troopers are continuing to investigate the crash at this time and have not announced whether any charges are expected. There is no further information available.
