Durham, NC (June 17, 2020) – The Durham Police Department is investigating a crash on U.S. 70 that led to the death of a former Person High School quarterback. The accident took place on Tuesday, June 16tha around 3:40 p.m.
According to a report, Antonio Williams was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze in the eastbound lanes of US 70. Suddenly, and for unknown reasons, the Cruze crossed the center line and collided with a Chevy Silverado. The Cruze spun counterclockwise before coming to rest in the eastbound lanes.
William was rushed to Duke Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the Silverado was also taken to Duke Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The crash is still under investigation and no further details are available at this time.
