Durham, NC (April 16, 2021) – A man was critically injured in a hit-and-run crash that took place in Durham on Wednesday, April 14th. The collision happened around 5:30 p.m. on Shoppers Street near the intersection with House Avenue.
Officers with the Durham Police Department were called to the scene just after the accident occurred. According to police, a man was riding a dirt bike when he entered the intersection at Shoppers Street and House Avenue. The man collided with the front left corner of a gray Toyota Avalon. The dirt bike rider sustained serious injuries in the collision. The driver of the Avalon fled the scene before police could arrive.
The dirt bike rider suffered critical injuries and was rushed to a local hospital where he remains at this time. No additional details are available. An investigation continues.
